We believe that every person, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education to reach their full potential. Our Education Empowerment Programme in Malaysia offers free tuition, resources, and support to underprivileged students to help them break the cycle of poverty and achieve their goals.

Promoting Youth Volunteerism for a Better Future

In addition to providing educational opportunities, we promote volunteerism among youth through service to the community. By engaging in voluntary service, we aim to raise up young leaders with noble and selfless character, empowering them to make a positive impact in society.

Ko Siong Kai, USM Student

After joining this free tuition programme for underprivileged children, I really changed some of my previous mindset. I also got to teach some tuition before this, but it was just for the sake of earning money. However, this really helped me reflect on why I wanted to be an educator: to let every student enjoy learning, to help poor families get rid of poverty, and to contribute something to the society. This programme is really meaningful for me as education is the only way to change poverty, and I’m the one that benefits from it. So I would like to contribute something to society as well.

Due to the fact that the programme uses a one-on-one teaching system, it became a learning process for me to overcome my own natural shyness and start a conversation with my student. I gained a lot of confidence in this process, which helped in my presentation as well. I learned that helping those in need is surely a good thing to do for a better community. Apart from that, they also prepared workshop for us to join to promote ourselves internally and externally.

Through Ajar-ajar Malaysia, I have gained myriad benefits which are valuable in my life. I have been allowed to teach children where I can cultivate my patience and passion, and spread love to this community. Besides that, as an introverted person, I became more confident and pleasurably express my opinions and emotions in Ajar-ajar. I can also get to know more about myself and the potential which I have yet to discover, which shows that this program is very meaningful for my university life.

Ajar ajar has been a refreshing experience so far. Friendliest atmosphere among any clubs I have joined. All volunteer teachers got along and we had an insight into teaching children as well as guiding them. We even have workshops that focused on heart to heart talks which are very needed in one’s self development, mentally and spiritually.
This is a place where I can comfortably express myself and feel joy helping others in need. I genuinely felt a part of a bigger picture, a warm and cozy house. Definitely solidifying my commitment towards ajar-ajar and looking forward to future events.

Ever since young I’ve been trying to help everyone around me including strangers. In hope to spread some positivity, happiness or at least help them out a bit. But I somehow find that I can’t really help them out due to inconsistency. One day I was exposed to Ajar-Ajar, that’s when I felt happy because this is where I can actually help someone consistently. There’s a saying in Bahasa Melayu “Sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit” Furthermore with the fact that I can actually make someone’s life happier even just for the slightest moment is more than enough for me. In Ajar-Ajar I’ve learnt that no act of kindness is ever wasted even the slightest one

I’m Priya here. I’d like to use this opportunity to express my thoughts about this program. This program has taught me a lot. I particularly learn how to interact with students and recognize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. In addition, I feel very happy with this program too because it allows me to contribute to society by teaching underprivileged students and playing a role in their academic success.
